Vikram “Vik” Uppal is a successful entrepreneur who is also actively involved in philanthropic endeavors. Through AID India, a nonprofit organization, he demonstrates his commitment to improving life in rural communities in India. As co-founder of the foundation, Vikram Uppal has spearheaded fundraising efforts geared towards providing food, medical assistance, and basic necessities to thousands of people.
The AID India Foundation also focuses on improving the quality of education in India. Its flagship project, Eureka SuperKidz, is an ongoing after-school program conducted in underprivileged communities. The project helps underserved children learn basic math, English and Tamil, using innovative approaches. Tutors work in villages, giving daily evening classes using materials specifically made to boost the learning process in children. Each student in the program is given a “Skill Chart,” where monthly goals and skill levels are recorded.
The Eureka SuperKidz program is now expanding to partner with both public and private schools in order to broaden its reach and impact and help more students across the country.
